A crowd favorite that's not always easy to find, Peperomia prostrata, aka 'String of Turtles', has the cutest tiny round leaves with a pattern that resemble a turtle's shell.
Tall, full, 4" pot
*NOTE: BECAUSE OF ITS STRUCTURE, THIS PLANT TENDS TO LOSE LEAVES EASILY, SOME LEAF LOSS DURING SHIPPING IS NORMAL AND TO BE EXPECTED.
Place in pot with drainage. Water when soil has almost totally dried out (all the way to the bottom). Leaves will look slightly less plump when it's time to water. Water less in cooler months. Avoid keeping soil overly moist. Bottom watering works best for this species, though occasional flushing of the soil is advised.
Bright indirect light. Avoid direct sun. If there are large spaces between the leaves on the vines or leaves are coming in very small, the plant likely needs more light.
This plant has shallow roots and does best without excessive space, the pot should never be more than 2” bigger than the root ball. Potting using sphagnum moss, in a net pot is a good option for this species.
We try to ensure that plant product photos resemble an average specimen of the individual species. Actual plant shipped may be slightly different in size, shape, or specific color/variegation. Any major differences will be noted in the product description.
Please note: we only ship plants TUES and WED each week, in order to ensure plants aren't sitting in hot/cold trucks over the weekend, so any orders placed after 3pm on WED will not ship until the following TUES.
Please read through our PLANT SHIPPING INFO & FAQ page for other questions prior to ordering.
