With the cutest little speckled leaves, Hoya curtisii resembles Ceropegia woodii a bit, but the leaves grow closer together and, like all Hoyas, this plant will develop the coolest little blooms as it matures. There is often debate in the Hoya community over the care for this plant, but we've found it does best if you ignore it until the soil is dried all the way to the bottom, then water deeply (as we recommend for all plants). We have not found it to need added humidity or any other fussing.
4" or 6" hanging pots (very short plant, not pictured)
Place in pot with drainage. Allow to dry out between waterings. When leaves begin to pucker, it’s time to water.
Bright indirect light. Can adapt to medium light, though blooms will not develop.
This species will climb if given something to grab onto. To encourage blooms, allow to become slightly root bound. When Hoyas bloom, DO NOT 'deadhead' aka cut off spent blooms as Hoyas bloom from the same spur over and over. If you cut off the spur, the plant will not bloom in that location again.
