Fungus gnats driving you nutty? Mosquito Bits are an effective treatment for these tiny annoyances, using an all-natural bacteria- Bacillus thuringiensis v. israelensis (aka BTI) to kill mosquito and fungus gnat larvae before they mature into breeding adults. The larvae of these pest insects die within 24 hours of nibbling on the baited bits.
For fungus gnat control: sprinkle or spread 1/2 cup of the granules per square foot of soil. Water as you would normally. Watering will release the BTI into the soil so the larvae can feed on it, which will kill them off. Repeat applications at three-week intervals for continued control.
If spraying is easier, mix bits into water: 4 tablespoons per gallon of water. Wait 5 minutes then apply water directly to the soil. Discard or compost granules when finished. This treatment controls fungus gnat larvae for up to 3 weeks. Repeat treatment if insects reappear.
