Frass Fertilizer Application Instructions For Houseplants

Frass can be used many ways, but for houseplants, prepping potting mix before planting, and top-dressing will be the most common uses. Below is our recommended dosing for common houseplant pot sizes, when used with potting mix like ours (chunky mixes):

For potting, use 1 TBSP per quart of potting mix. Mix Frass into potting mix thoroughly, then pot your plant up, and water well.

To use Frass as a regularly applied fertilizer: measure Frass according to the chart above, sprinkle evenly on the soil surface, then mix gently into the top layer of soil with a tool like a widger, our houseplants tool set, or chopstick. Once mixed in, water plant thoroughly. Can be safely reapplied every 3-4 weeks.
