Ficus maclellandii 'Alii' may not share the same kind of popularity as its cousins the Fiddle Leaf Fig or Ficus benghalensis 'Audrey', but we think it deserves the same recognition! Ficus maclellandii 'Alii' is a cultivar of Ficus maclellandii which is native to India, Southeast Asia and China, where it can grow to huge sizes. In your home Ficus maclellandii 'Alii' can grow to upwards of ten feet tall, making it a real center piece! Ficus can sometimes be an intimidating genus, they have a reputation for being finicky and difficult but we think Ficus are just misunderstood. CARE TIPS:

Light: Ficus maclellandii 'Alii', like all other Ficus, requires bright indirect light to be happiest. 

Water: Water your Ficus maclellandii 'Alii' when about half to 2/3 of the soil has gone dry. Ficus maclellandii 'Alii', and Ficus in general, do not like to stay overly moist. If left wet for too long Ficus will tend to drop their leaves.

Did you know? Ficus maclellandii 'Alii' is sometimes sold with a braided trunk. This braiding happens when the plant is young and the new growth is pliable. Your plant will not continue to grow this way unless you continue the braiding as it grows.
