Plant Know-How: Rhaphidophora tetrasperma

At first glance you might think this plant is a Monstera deliciosa that got hit with a shrink ray. This is Rhaphidophora tetrasperma, and while it may not be a Monstera it is a member of the Aroid family meaning it's Monsetera's distant cousin. Rhaphidophora tetrasperma is the newest break out star of the plant world, it was only a few years ago that this plant was hard to come by. Now  Rhaphidophora tetrasperma is widespread in cultivation which we are so excited about! Rhaphidophora tetrasperma is well suited for beginners, it's a quick grower and forgiving of a range of care. CARE TIPS:

Light: Rhaphidophora tetrasperma does best in bright indirect light. It can grow in medium indirect light but your plant may develop leaves with less splits or no splits at all.

Water: Water your Rhaphidophora tetrasperma when about 3/4ths of the soil has gone completely dry. Be sure to water your plant deeply whenever you water.

Did you know? As Rhaphidophora tetrasperma matures it will develop smaller fenestrations, or holes, along the midrib of its leaves similar to mature Monstera deliciosa!
