This silvery beauty is Philodendron hastatum 'Silver Sword', a gorgeous cultivar of Philodendron hastatum. Philodendron hastatum 'Silver Sword' is a member of the Aroid family, like many of the plants we keep in our home (think Pothos of Monstera). Until recently Philodendron hastatum 'Silver Sword' was relatively hard to find. It's still a new plant to us and we are certainly very happy to have it! Just because Philodendron hastatum 'Silver Sword' can be a harder to find plant doesn't mean its difficult to take care of. The care for Philodendron hastatum 'Silver Sword' is similar to other Philodendrons. CARE TIPS:

Light: Philodendron hastatum 'Silver Sword' does best if grown in medium to bright indirect light. Be sure to protect the leaves from direct sun as they will burn.

Water: Water your Philodendron hastatum 'Silver Sword' when about the top 1/3 of soil has gone dry. Philodendron hastatum 'Silver Sword' will do best when grown in a chunky, well draining soil mix.

Did you know? In the wild Philodendron hastatum 'Silver Sword' grows up the trunks of trees. As it grows upwards the leaves will mature and change shape. They become somewhat lobed and have been described as being "horse head" shaped. To encourage your plant to grow these mature leaves give your plant a moss pole to grow up!
